Why buy this Fishing Charter and Water Taxi Business

Fishing Charter and Water Taxi Business for Sale Hauraki Gulf

Buying a boat is the easy part. Turning one into a business that can legally carry paying passengers is not. It takes a vessel in commercial survey, an approved Maritime Transport Operating Plan and certification through Maritime New Zealand. Most private boats never get there, and starting from nothing takes months.

This one is there already. The business has run fishing charters and water taxis on the Hauraki Gulf for more than a decade. The vessel is a modern alloy sport fisher, purpose built for charter work, recently refurbished, with under 300 hours on its diesel. The owner has moved his focus to another business, which is why this one is available.

• In current MNZ survey for 12 passengers plus crew
• Marine Transport Operating Plan included in the sale
• Vendor assistance to get your operating certificate issued
• Purpose built charter vessel, not a private boat needing conversion
• Established brand with over ten years on the Hauraki Gulf
• 5-star ratings on Google and TripAdvisor
• 3,700+ Facebook followers and a 500+ subscriber database ready for relaunch
• Two income streams, fishing charters and water taxis
• Vendor projections indicate net profit of around $200,000 for a full-time owner operator
• Full handover covering bookings, operations and proven fishing grounds
• Operates from any major Auckland marina, so you pick your base
• Set your own schedule around seasonal demand

For a qualified skipper, this is a compliant vessel, a proven name and a client list waiting for the season ahead.

The asking price is $350,000, including the vessel.
