Mail runs like this don’t come up often but it is time for Gordon to retire after 20 years of living the dream. It is a run full of spectacular coastal scenery, delivering all the way to the Southern most point of the North Island – a Fisherman’s paradise.

The mail run covers approximately 220km’s per day, over 200 mailboxes operating Monday – Friday. Training will be provided.

You will be a self-employed contractor with NZ POST delivering:

· NZ Post mail

· NZ Post parcels (both large and small)

· circulars

· local and community newspapers

· all other courier company’s parcels too

· plus supplies to local businesses such as the Country Store, bars/restaurants and a rural tourist attraction.

The business includes a 2022 ZR Toyota Hiace with approximately 230,000km’s.

We previously ran a tourist operation alongside the mail run; “To the Coast with the Post” which is a great opportunity to earn extra income if it interested you. We stopped during covid and being closer to retirement decided not to start it up again.

Prospective new owners must have a clean full driver’s license and pass NZ Post’s vetting criteria. Usual self-employed expenses including ACC, insurance, vehicle running/ maintenance expenses, wages are met by the contractor.

2025 Financials = $139K Trading income, $85K Net profit

The business is for sale for $140 000, but discussions could be had if, for example, you didn’t want to include the van.
