Boat Building Business for Sale Nadi Fiji
Marine Boat Manufacturing and Engineering Business For Sale In Nadi, Fiji.
Opportunity to become the owner of a growing and hugely successful Aluminium boat manufacturing, engineering Business in Nadi, Fiji.
Founded in 2001, Marine Power and Services Limited T/A Cobra Boats and Marine Engineering prides itself on manufacturing quality boats and engineering, and has become renown as the only place to go for quality .
It has built up a repeat business customer base and attracts new business from all over Fiji and the pacific. Over the past three years we have manufactured custom built boats for tourism in Vanuatu, fishing in Noumea, and Whale watching in Tonga. Marine Power manufacture a range of custom built aluminium boats ranging from 7.5 meters to 18 meters in size for charter, commercial and private. We have just finished building a 18 meter barge for a resort in the Mananuca group of Islands in Nadi, and are now starting on our second 18meter barge for an export order. In the past we have built commercial barges from 8-12 meters. We also have orders for 2 x 10.9 meter transfer cats, along with a 13.5 transfer cat. The business will be sold with forward orders on the books worth 1.7 million FJD.
We have also manufactured aluminium walkways, boat, jetski, household and bike trailers, fuel jetties, pontoons, fuel tanks and many other customised fabrications. We have also done one off projects, one being an 18meter semi-submersible sea sub the first of its kind in the world, built in Fiji by Fijians.
Because of the volume of boat manufacturing, engineering is a smaller part of the business. Currently we have been picking and choosing the engineering work, turning away more jobs than undertaken. There is a potential to expand the engineering side. We employ the services of a New Zealand boat designer and navy architect who has the latest up to date programs.
Marine Power and Services Limited T/A Cobra Boats and Marine Engineering is also affiliated with New Zealand Marine and Composites ( industry training organisation), and are the only recognised company in Fiji by New Zealand Marine and Composits. Presently 4 of the staff have apprentiships through New Zealand Marine.
The business currently employs 16 local staff and has invested in the latest welding equipment for the fabrication and assembly of aluminium boats.
The business is currently located on the owners property in Wailoaloa, Nadi, and is about 300 meters from the beach where the launch all their boats. As it is located on their property, they are willing to offer two options.
Option 1: Buy the business and relocate.
Option 2: Buy the business along with the owner’s property, and not having to relocate. POA
This is a solid business with consistent growth in turnover and profit. The business will be sold with on-going orders.
The owners (husband and wife) who manage the business are expats and wish to retire from this business and relocate to another country.
An engineering experience would be helpful to owning and operating this business.
Hours of operating are from 8.00am -4.30pm Monday to Friday, however the new owners could easily open over the weekend to capture additional business. Customer database is kept from all customers over the past years. Most business comes from word of mouth and the business has a solid reputation, as well as repeat business.
We the owners are happy to provide a handover/training period to any purchaser. This is a unique opportunity in Fiji, where the owners own 100% of the business. Changes in Fiji law over 10 years ago meant any new business starting up has to be at least 50% owned by a Fijian citizen, which makes it difficult for expats to establish a new business. With Marine Power and Services Limited being established in 2001 (before the law changed) the opportunity exists for new owners (expats or locals) to be able to own 100% of the business.
A list of plant, equipment and stock is available to any interested purchaser.
